"It takes community working together to make a difference." At Freedom Life Yancey we do not just say this, we believe it. We do not just believe it, we live it. From the very first day of our existence, we have been committed to community connection and collaboration.
The current or formerly incarcerated clients we will serve at Freedom Life Yancey will come to us with very complex needs. These needs range from practical needs such as an ID, a Social Security Card, food, clothing, housing, jobs, and transportation, to deeper needs such as mental health, emotional health, substance misuse/ addiction help, and spiritual help. We have clients whose children may be in DSS Child Services, or who have deep financial needs and pressures. All of our clients tend to struggle with ties to old relationships that could be, and in many cases prove to be harmful to their reentry, recovery journey.
A Fresh Start
This is where Freedom Life Avery comes in. We seek to bring the many resources of our community and the many needs of our justice involved clients and their families together. Through providing case management, mentoring, pastoral care, needs resourcing, and agency networking, clients of Freedom Life are able to receive the holistic help they need to address literally every need in their lives and in the lives of their families. This is true of their practical needs such as housing and jobs, their mental health, emotional health, relational health, and physical health needs, and also their spiritual health needs.
Stories of Grace
Individuals who have a criminal record and may have faced incarceration encounter a vide range of spiritual, mental, medical, relational, and practical needs as they seek to transition back into the community. At Freedom Life Yancey, we desire to reflect Christ's love as we seek to make a difference. God is a God of second chances. There are people in our neighborhoods who are struggling to overcome their past. Many do not ave the support they need to gain new footing and break through unhealthy life cycles hat impact themselves, their families, and the community. They need our help. Freedom Life Yancey is here to partner with our community in providing aid and support that will help our justice involved neighbors turn the cycles of their past into opportunity for a new life filled with hope.
